An Introduction to the Boston Terrier
Jeff Rutledge has managed legal matters on behalf of corporate and private clients as an attorney in Arlington, Texas, since 2010. When he is not working as an attorney and overseeing the Law Office of Jeffrey Rutledge, Jeff Rutledge enjoys spending time outdoors with his dogs, a pair of Boston terriers.
There are a number of reasons an individual or family might decide on a Boston terrier as their next companion. Like any breed of dog, the personality of individual Boston terriers can differ considerably, from high energy troublemakers to dignified, reserved ladies and gentlemen. For the most part, Boston terriers can be described as playful, pack-oriented animals that enjoy playing fetch and pursuing any curiosity they may sniff out. Boston terriers can make for great family pets, but many members of the breed are known to attach to a single person more than others. In some cases, this quality can make them the ideal companion for an older individual.
The benefits of raising a Boston terrier are many. They are small in size but tough and energetic. They are handsome and expressive, yet their short coats are very easy to maintain. Even the more reserved terriers can be described as friendly to strangers and cooperative with other pets.
Of course, the Boston terrier is not the perfect animal for everyone. The peculiar development of the dog’s snout results in a variety of snorting sounds while awake and snoring at night, sounds that go along with a bit of slobbering from time to time. These quirks may develop into more serious health problems as the dog ages. Though eager to please, housebreaking a Boston terrier can take a bit more patience compared to other dogs.
Once again, it must be stressed that no two terriers are exactly alike. Regardless of the breed of dog a person chooses, they and anyone else in the house must be committed to training and socializing the pet over the course of its lifetime to ensure the development of a well-behaved dog with a positive attitude.

Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Events
A Texas attorney and former business owner, Jeff Rutledge represents clients in IT contract negotiation and intellectual property (IP) matters. He formerly served as owner and productions director for Paradigm Research, a publishing and research firm. Attorney Jeff Rutledge supports charitable organizations such as Feed My Starving Children, a Christian non-profit that provides hunger relief in more than 70 countries worldwide.
To fulfill its mission of delivering nutritious meals where they are needed most, FMSC ships hand-packed meals to distribution partners around the world. This is accomplished through the organization of MobilePacks, which are events hosted by a church, school, business, or community groups.
Events require a group of at least 500 volunteers who pack a minimum of 100,000 meals, all of which contain essential nutrients that support child development, combat malnutrition, and facilitate recovery from illness. FMSC works with local distribution partners to ensure that 99.6 percent of its packed meals reach their intended recipients. In 2015 alone, more than 1 million volunteers helped FMSC produce nearly 273 million meals.
